YOLO Sells BRUU After a Decade of Growth
YOLO is pleased to announce the successful sale of BRUU, the renowned online tea subscription service that we nurtured from its humble beginnings on a kitchen table to becoming the UK's leading online tea club. After ten fruitful years, over 1.5 million cups of tea served, and numerous accolades, BRUU has been acquired by a passionate new owner committed to continuing the brand's legacy and further expansion.
Founded in 2013, BRUU quickly made its mark by entering prominent retail chains such as WHSmith and Next Retail with specially curated gift offerings. Our dedication to quality and innovation led us to win several prestigious awards, firmly establishing BRUU as a staple in the British tea industry.
This strategic sale aligns perfectly with YOLO's goals to concentrate on our core markets. "The timing of the sale was ideal as it allows us to focus more deeply on areas where we see the greatest future growth and innovation potential," said Scott Woodhead, Founder of YOLO.
Central to our forward-looking strategy is Scayl, a venture that traces its origins back to our early days with BRUU. The need for efficient tea packing introduced us to the machinery sector, and what started as a quest for speedier packaging has evolved into Scayl when we decided to build our own machine. Today, Scayl offers advanced machinery that serves the food sector, supporting industry giants such as Mondelez, Tesco, and Tailors of Harrogate. With our recent advancements in full automation, Scayl is poised to compete with major European brands, promising exciting developments ahead.
"We are immensely proud of what we've accomplished with BRUU and are thrilled to see it pass into capable hands that will honor and grow the brand. As we turn our focus to expanding Scayl's innovative solutions, we are excited about the future and our continued commitment to excellence and efficiency in the food industry." said David Martin, Head of Sales at Scayl.
