Butterflies Eyecare Acquires Eye Lounge

It is with mixed emotions that we announce the next chapter for Eye Lounge. After years of helping our incredible customers, Eye Lounge has now been acquired by Butterflies Eyecare, a trusted name in the world of eye care.

This decision wasn’t an easy one. We are disheartened to let go of a business that has brought us connections and lots of valuable knowledge about the industry. However, we are equally delighted to pass the business on to Butterflies Eyecare, a brand with an outstanding reputation for putting their customers first and providing the support and care you deserve.

Here is a Heartfelt Goodbye from our Customer Service Manager, Greg:

“We made the decision to close Eye Lounge to focus on other parts of our business. While this is a positive step forward, allowing us to safeguard our staff and pour our love and creativity into brands that can grow and sustain the foundation of our business for the future, it was an incredibly difficult choice. Leaving behind our wonderful customers has been the hardest part.

Throughout our time with Eye Lounge, the overwhelming consensus within our team was that the best part of the job was talking directly with customers over the phone. Serving an older generation brought immense joy and purpose, as we could interact with incredible people while offering something that not only supported their physical health (eyesight) but also provided mental relief.

Our subscription service was especially valued by customers who struggled with online technology or found it challenging to get to high street shops. It brought convenience and peace of mind, ensuring they never ran out of the products they needed. This holistic interaction with our customers was the heart of Eye Lounge and the reason we kept it going for so long—even during challenging times like the pandemic, postal strikes, and financial difficulties in the UK.

As part of the transition to close, we wanted to ensure our customers continued to receive excellent care. We decided to recommend Butterflies Eyecare, a company we trust wholeheartedly. They’ve supplied us with products over the years, and we’ve always admired their exceptional service, from the owner, James, to every member of their team. Their phone line and personalised approach align with the values we hold dear, which is why Scott, our owner, offered the business to them.
